We’ve decided to start a new series called “What’s Good Wednesday” where we’ll share highlights from the last week. It can be easy to forget all the good things that happen, so this will be a nice way to jot them down.
Beautiful sunrises
Now I have more early morning meetings. Personally, I like for my workday to start at 8am, it feels like my brain is ready to go for the day. I am now working primarily with an east coast based team, and this means a lot more 6am calls. Given that summer is approaching, it’s actually a nice perk because I get to watch the sunrise while making coffee. The picture above was a wonderful treat.
Gardening season
I was antsy and ready to get my vegetable garden started. One of the grocery stores we go to has a completely separate and outdoor garden center which had a lot of physical distancing procedures in place, so we were able to pick up almost everything we needed from there.
Hummingbirds
The hummingbirds are back!! We couldn’t remember exactly when we needed to start filling the hummingbird feeder. Apparently hummingbirds have very good memories, and you don’t want to snooze as they will move on from your place. So we started when the temperatures stopped dropping below freezing overnight, around mid to late April. It was a little early, but we still had a hummingbird visit here and there. Now that it’s May, they are definitely starting to make their return. They seem thirsty, as they’ll drink for quite a while. We’re excited to sit on the patio and enjoying their presence. They’re quite noisy, and will fuss with each other, so the hummingbirds are easy to notice.
