Checking out Unleashed Brewing Co. Kelowna

Well well well! We might have found our new brewery hangout in town. I’m sure there are many new breweries that have popped up recently, but the two we wanted to go to were The Office and Unleashed. We had gone to The Office the previous weekend and wanted to bring Louie along so we decided to come back the following weekend to check out Unleashed together. We loved it there! They have a dog-friendly patio, and everything is dog-themed, so how could we not love this place? We just brought Louie because Mia was too comfortable at home on her stacked bed. Everything was an ale at Unleashed. I generally do not order ales but decided to do a flight just because. We were absolutely blown away by everything we tasted and can’t wait to go back!

At the time of our visit, only the outdoor patio (not inside) is dog-friendly. Justin spent some time talking to the staff inside, and apparently, that could change because of the way they set up their space. They gave Justin a card to contact the brewery to share testimonials of why the indoor portion should also be dog-friendly. Considering I wrote to an MLA for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I will certainly be sending in my thoughts!

The flights were served in doggy bowls. The staff brought out a water bowl for each dog that was visiting and grabbed a photo of them. Some of Unleashed’s patio faces Clement Ave, which made it pretty noisy (for us) from passing vehicles, so we chose to sit in the “alley” which is really the space between the buildings. The patio was pretty nice and chill except for the gnats that would make the occasional appearance. There was a stack of dog beds by the door, so we grabbed one for Louie. Frankly, having dog beds for all the pups was the perfect touch and definitely one of the key reasons we’ll be returning to Unleashed.

We did a flight of beers so we could taste (almost) everything on the menu. The staff gave us a sample of the 5th offering, so we ended up getting to try everything that Unleashed had on tap. All of their ales were AMAZING, and our favorite was the LONDON DOG Special-tea Ale. It was really aromatic with the bergamot. We don’t drink enough beer to warrant doing growler fills, so it was nice to see they offered canned beer. We picked up a gigantic can of London Dog to take home with us. All of the beers were so good, we’re definitely going to be adding Unleashed into regular rotation for breweries around Kelowna.
