It’s always hard for us to leave the pup at home alone, so we decided to bring Mia along for a quick trip to San Francisco. Dogs that are 15lbs and under can travel in the cabin on an airplane. This makes it super easy to travel even further with a dog. We stayed at a dog-friendly hotel, and plenty of the activities we like to get up to are often outside. San Francisco is such an amazing place to visit, enjoy the travel diary of our weekend trip!
Flying With A Pet
Mia loves her carrier and loves traveling, she’s such a champ! Whenever she hears the jingle of the zipper on this carrier, she comes running. If we leave it out at home, she’s always trying to get into it. She’s great at flying, so we don’t have to worry much about her. There’s only a little bit of extra planning required when wanting to travel with a pet, namely flights and hotels, and absolutely worth it.
Where We Stayed
We stayed at Park55. It’s dog-friendly, located downtown, and there are nice views from the rooms. Most hotels are pretty good with pets and will offer amenities just for them, like dog beds, treats, bowls, and poop bags. We try to bring the comforts of home, so we’ll also bring some light bedding for her.

Where We Ate
It might be obvious that we don’t bring Mia out when we go to eat. She stays back at the hotel to relax while we go out for dinner. Since it was just a quick weekend here, there’s are only so many opportunities to eat! We always try to go to Rich Table, it’s one of our most favorite restaurants in SF.

What We Did
- Epic bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge!
We’ve had the pleasure of visiting San Francisco many times, so we’ve done Fisherman’s Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, Alcatraz, Lombard Street, Presidio, Mission Delores Park, shop around Haight, Crissy Field, Embarcadero, The Castro, Chinatown, and Union Square, to name a few places. So we rented a couple of bikes, and got a buggy so that Mia could come along for the ride!
