Our stay at Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica was an unforgettable blend of luxury, relaxation, and adventure. From the moment we arrived, the hotel’s grand entrance—dominated by the historic fig tree—welcomed us into a world of elegance and tranquility. Whether lounging by the pool or soaking up the ocean views from our room, every moment felt like the perfect escape.
Our room was designed with comfort and luxury in mind, complete with plush bedding, expansive windows, and a view of the Pacific Ocean that took our breath away. The service was impeccable, making us feel pampered and relaxed, which was exactly what we were looking for during our getaway.
The moment we arrived, we were struck by the charm of the property, from the historic fig tree towering over the entrance to the chic bungalows hidden in the garden. The hotel seamlessly blends timeless elegance with a relaxed, coastal vibe. We loved it.
Culinary Highlights: From Farm-to-Table to Sushi and Beyond
One of the best parts of our trip was the incredible food experiences we enjoyed. On the first night, we ere able to get in at Soko Sushi at the hotel, where we indulged in beautifully crafted sushi that made for a lighter yet delicious meal. Dining at FIG Restaurant at the Miramar was a standout moment, where we savored fresh, farm-to-table dishes that celebrated the best of California’s ingredients.
Venturing beyond the hotel, we enjoyed the classic burgers and fries at Shake Shack in Santa Monica, a fun and casual treat after a day of biking. For our LA dining adventures, we made unforgettable stops at The Girl and the Goat, a restaurant known for its bold flavors and eclectic menu, and Gjelina, where the wood-fired pizzas and fresh salads were a perfect way to wind down our day. We couldn’t resist a coastal trip to Broad Street Oyster in Malibu, where we devoured fresh oysters with a view of the beach. Finally, we dined at Playa Provisions in Playa Del Rey, a laid-back yet sophisticated spot by the water that offered the perfect mix of comfort and California cuisine.
Exploring Santa Monica by Bike
One of the best ways to enjoy Santa Monica is by bike, and we took full advantage of the scenic beachfront bike paths. With the ocean breeze and stunning views, it was the perfect way to explore the area at our own pace. Biking from Santa Monica Pier down to Venice Beach was not only refreshing but also gave us plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the local culture.
After working up an appetite from biking, we loved returning to the Fairmont Miramar to relax by the pool, knowing we had more fantastic dining experiences ahead.
Capturing Memories with Flytographer
During our stay, we wanted to make sure we captured these special moments, so we booked a session with Flytographer. The photographer beautifully captured us and our dachsunds around the Venice Canals and beach, providing us with lasting memories from this getaway. Flytographer has become our go-to for documenting our travels, and this session did not disappoint.
