Here’s a quick “After” of our main bedroom, although classifying it as a “work in progress” might be more accurate. We ripped out the carpet and replaced it with vinyl planking, and it’s made a huge difference. We’re in the process of shopping for nightstands we like, so these side tables will have to do for now. I always love having some greenery in the bedroom and will need to play around with the layout some more. With all that in mind, welcome to a tour of our main bedroom.
We always knew that we were going to replace the carpeting in the two bedrooms upstairs, and finally got around to it. Last year we purchased this electric fireplace to put into the bedroom. It sat in the garage for almost a year. As I mentioned earlier, we are hunting for new nightstands, as well as new vent covers that blend into the floor a bit better. Originally, I wanted to have floor to ceiling curtains but got talked out of it. So I think we’ll look to get motorized blinds put in so we can sync it with the sun!
The pineapple on the fireplace is a gigantic candle. It was an impulse buy from west elm a couple of years ago and sat on the mantle in the living room for ages. I love how simple and clean it looks. The cloches was another impulse buy. Sometimes, I can be a little sensitive to smell, and some of our candles don’t come with a lid or cover. I’ve resorted to keeping those candles upside down. Well, not anymore! The cloches are perfect for those really strongly scented candles. Now I can store them right side up and they look even prettier inside a cloche. We have a second cloche that we want to try using for smoking cocktails. We’ll be sure to put it on the blog whenever we get around to it!
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to decorate one of my favorite places in our home. It’s certainly an iterative process!
