There’s nothing like a babymoon to celebrate the upcoming arrival of a little one. This trip isn’t just a vacation—it’s a time to pause, enjoy those final moments as a couple, and embrace luxury and relaxation before the whirlwind of parenthood begins. For us, Vancouver BC was the ideal destination. Not too far from home, familiar yet filled with new experiences, and an easy place to enjoy at a slower pace.
Our stay at the Fairmont Pacific Rim turned out to be the perfect mix of luxury and relaxation. We revisited some of our favourite spots while discovering new treasures, with the Pacific Rim as our base. Here’s how we indulged, explored, and made the most of our babymoon in Vancouver.

Why We Chose Vancouver for Our Babymoon
We wanted a destination that felt like an escape without taking us too far from home, and Vancouver fit the bill perfectly. Having lived in Vancouver for years, we were excited to return to some old favourites, yet also open to trying new spots with fresh perspectives. This time, it wasn’t just about exploring the city—we wanted a truly relaxing, pampered experience to celebrate this exciting phase of life.
Fairmont Pacific Rim was our clear choice for a luxurious stay. Located in the heart of Vancouver, this hotel offers the ultimate blend of modern elegance and exceptional service. Plus, they’re pet-friendly, so Mia and Louie (our dachshunds) could join in on the fun!
One of our original plans was to visit the Willow Stream Spa together. However, due to high demand, we couldn’t secure a spot weeks in advance. A lesson for future babymooners: Book spa services early! Even without the spa, Fairmont offers incredible amenities, from a rooftop patio with hot tubs to stunning waterfront views.
Fine Dining and New Discoveries in Vancouver
When it comes to dining, we didn’t have to venture far from our hotel for some incredible culinary experiences. Our first dinner was at Botanist, located right in the Fairmont. The restaurant perfectly embodies west coast contemporary cuisine, and the convenience of simply walking downstairs made it a top choice for our stay. Not to mention, breakfast was just as incredible—waking up to fresh, local ingredients without needing to step out the door.
Another dining highlight was Elisa, a contemporary steakhouse with a twist. We were excited to try it for the first time, and it didn’t disappoint. The wood-fire grill gave the dishes a unique flavor, and the personalized dessert touch made the meal even more special. There’s nothing like a custom dessert message to elevate the experience!
Vancouver’s rich food scene didn’t stop at fine dining. We also discovered a gem at the Granville Island Market, where we indulged in tacos from a stand we stumbled upon while shopping for treats for Mia and Louie at Granville Island Pet Treatery. Our last day in Vancouver was capped off with more Mexican fare at Cantina, a lively spot that added a fun and flavourful end to our trip.
Capturing the Moment: Maternity Photoshoot with Liliya Lubenkova
One of the most meaningful aspects of our babymoon was taking maternity photos with Liliya Lubenkova Portraits. I’ve always loved her work, and I was thrilled that she had availability during our stay. We spent a lovely afternoon at her studio, where she captured some truly intimate and beautiful moments—just me, Justin, Mia, and Louie.
Being able to include our pets made it even more special. As we get ready to welcome a new member into our family, I’m so grateful to have these photos to look back on, celebrating this moment in our lives and honoring my body through pregnancy.

Vancouver proved to be the perfect destination for our babymoon. And staying at the Fairmont Pacific Rim made everything feel even more special—a luxurious retreat that we’ll cherish for years to come.
